Even the Internet is old now.
You know, I remember the days before this Web thang, when the Internet was TEXT. I remember finger, and gopher, and telnet, and 2400 baud Internet connections.
But I never realized how old the Internet was until this happened:
Backstory: Late a couple nights ago on OKCupid, I get IM'd by this nice girl. 18 years old, in a different state, just looking for folks to talk to. No biggie. We chat, we get along fine (OKCupid has a good matching algorithm). During the course of a recent conversation, I use the term IMHO.
"IMHO?"
"Don't you know what that means?"
"No."
"You mean there are Internet acronyms that have actually fallen out of use? Is the Internet that old? Am *I* that old? *despair*"
There are Internet chat acronyms that have actually fallen into disuse. I now speak Olde Internet.
So depressing.

I have no idea what any internet language is...could you enlighten me as I am computer illiterate. I am of the over 55 crowd who is just now trying to break through.
Your dear old Mom.
Hi Mom,
IMHO is short for "In My Humble Opinion".
